RISC OS  OPEN

A fast and easily customised operating system for devices using ARM processor cores.

Documentation: Software information: Phoenix

Status

Current status: Working on Iyonix, RISC OS 5.16 (18th Jan 2010)

Last stable version: 2.15 (24th April 2009), (c) Tematic Ltd 2005

Overview

Web browser : presumably developed from !Browse.

Installation Instructions

Unzip the archive onto your harddrive. You will need several modules that are available on the RISC OS Open website. Go to the ‘relocatable modules’ in the download section. I grabbed all of the (eight) modules in the ‘Network’ section. You also need the AcornHTTP module from the ‘ungrouped’ section. Unzip and drag each download’s !Boot file into a temporary directory on your hard drive. Install these into your machines !Boot using the Merge function. This places them correctly. The module AcornHTTP needs to be renamed as just HTTP. !Phoenix should now work with locally fetched webpages. (i.e. From the hard drive).
