*Run

Use

This *Command loads and executes a file, optionally passing a list of parameters to it.

Syntax

*Run filename [parameters]

Parameters

filename Valid pathname specifying a file
parameters Command Line tail

Notes

The given pathname is searched for in the directories listed in the System Variable Run$Path. If a matching object is a directory then it is ignore, unless it contains a !Run file. The valid first match is used.

  • If the file has no filetype, then the file’s load and execution addresses are used.
  • If the filetype is &FF8 (Absolute) it is loaded at address &8000.
  • For any specified filetype, the corresponding Alias$@RunType_nnn variable is looked up to determine how the file should be loaded
    • If there is no corresponding Alias$@RunType_nnn variable, then a error is generated.
