*SetType

Use

This *Command sets the file type of the named file to the given textual file type or hexadecimal number.

Syntax

*SetType filename filetype

Parameters

filename Valid pathname specifying a file
filetype Filetype text description or 3 digit hexadecimal filetype number

Notes

If the file does not have a date stamp, then it is stamped with the current time and date.

Although the command allows for the three digit hexadecimal code to be used without an Ampersand sign, it is highly recommended that one always be used. This is to stop any ambiguities with three digit filetype names.
