Hi

I thought I would try a clean hard disc image with my Beagle -Xm along with the 1st Oct ROM.

I extracted the 1st Oct 12 hard disc image, moved the old image to a “old” directory, and copied the new one across to the hard drive. I then updated the ROM image via SDFS and closed down and rebooted the Beagleboard.

Upon reboot I started reconfiguring things. First up Screen resolution to 1920×1080p MDF and saved that OK.

Then Networking, so enable Protcol suite, the interface, set DHCP,Host name, Primary server etc and close and then clicked save at the Network configuration window and up pops an error box saying something has gone wrong. Click describe and get:
“Not heap block:Fileswitch FreeArea”

Try again and it states file open.

So Reboot the Beagle and it starts up after waiting for DHCP.

Screen mode Ok , but notice no Shares icon, in to network and Access is now disabled, so enable it and save only to get the same error.

I then looked at the Choices>Internet>Startup file and notice it is set to type of Text , change it to Obey and reboot and then go through the same Network configure set up with the same errors.

Try something else in the Configuration box, Keyboard Caps On to Off and save and get the same “Not a heap block: Fileswitch FreeArea” error.

Try Windows>Protect Built in ROM icons and get the same Heap Block error.

So it seems that something is wrong with either the ROM or Hard Disc image or both.

Any ideas?

Whoops – looks like I broke SDCMOS a bit. Try again with tomorrow’s ROM and the errors should be fixed.

Jeffrey

Tried 4th Oct ROM and that seems to have cured the problems.

Thanks for the speedy response and fix.

Doug
