Repeat: Bad alignment request

Hmm. Just had an old build script that I use to set the filetypes of things to be distributed (when they aren’t being kept with filetypes in SVN) stop working quite badly when I removed one now-redundant directory that it referenced. Simple example, with a Temp directory that exists in the root: Repeat Echo $.Temp ... shows contents of Temp directory ... Repeat Echo $.Tempe Repeat: Directory '$.Temp' not found ... that's fair enough ... Repeat Echo $.Temp Repeat: Bad alignment request ... and so on until the end of script when good objects are being referred to ... It seems to clear on a Task swap. I dare not ask.
