ShareFS on MacOS

Just wondered what the best way to get access to a ShareFS share from MacOS would be? I guess my options would be one of either:
Am I correct in assuming that it doesn’t work with RPCEmu? |

I once tried #1 on my Mac, but it was doing all sorts of funky stuff with the ifconfig command to determine the network configuration. The command had different output on MacOS compared to Linux, so it didn’t work. I hacked the Python about, but never got it working. I think the code has moved on since then, so it’s probably worth a try. |

Interesting…the newer versions of Debian don’t use ifconfig at all and have replaced it with the “ip” command so I guess it would not work with them either! |

Then the solution is to fix it to use a Python module for handling network configuration, such as ipy. Pull requests are welcome. |

Would be happy to take a look sometime—probably have to wait until I get my own MacBook in a couple of weeks (actually longer because I have to fix it first!). Probably wont test on Debian though as my Debian laptop has been mothballed (the mouse has become somewhat flaky and I haven’t the will to replace the heatsink/fan for a second time to stop it overheating!) —the Debian servers I have are only accessed through my main RISC OS machine so putting it on them would be kinda unhelpful! Will post back here when I’ve given it a try on MacOS… |
