Shutdown oddity

This isn’t causing a problem, but it’s got me puzzled. When I use ctrl-shift-F12 to shutdown, the RAMFS Filer message about things in RAM pops up. Nothing unusual there, as I frequently have temporary files there. However a couple of months ago, pressing Enter to remove this causes this to pop up a second time. It doesn’t do this on every shutdown, maybe 50% of them. I would have blamed IrisRAM, except that this started a month or so before I set that up. Apart from the possible updating of regular software tools, I can’t think of anything that changed in the timeframe concerned. |

I’ve been seeing this for some time, but it seems hardware-dependent. RPCEmu 0.9.4 has been showing the warning twice for a long time (I’d guess at 18 months). It’s pretty much guaranteed to happen at RISC OS 5.28 or 5.29, but rarely (if ever) happens at RISC OS 5.24. I can’t recall any incidents on the Raspberry Pi, regardless of the RISC OS version in use. A quick stress test (5 reboots in quick succession) produced no duplicate warnings at RISC OS 5.28. |
