GMail sucks

Hello ROOL, I don’t tend to send much mail to ROOL, but the last two times I have it has bounced because GMail suspects that my message contains spam (the most recent (today) was an allocation request, nothing spammy at all about it). Perhaps slightly more damning is that in the course of rejecting my message (rather than dropping it in the user’s spam box for them to have a chance of looking at), it is happily leaking your private GMail addresses. Therefore, once I’ve posted this I’m going to be writing directly to the GMail address behind the allocate@ address, maybe that’ll get past this erroneous filter. But, yeah, GMail… ugh. Edit: Direct sending seems to have worked (no rejection as yet). I’m wondering if it’s the redirection from riscosopen.org that GMail is whinging about. |

Mail forwarding is a bit of a nightmare now. Even though your SPF record indicates softfail acceptable, no guarantee that the ultimate receiver will honour that. |

Not something that I get involved in configuring, but I do have to run checks on stuff and make sure the SPF in the DNS is all as required. https://mxtoolbox.com/SuperTool.aspx?action=mx%3ariscosopen.org&run=toolpage |

Steve, I agree with your posting above. |

I’ve just had to change my domain provider of 22 years in order to get decent email hosting with SPF, DKIM and DMARC support. Hopefully emails from the school will no longer bounce back. |

Why not say that G00gle and their sub-companies are part of the “Prism” NSA/GCHQ spyware program? And naturally boycott the whole shebang*? Spying on citizens is something belonging to Communist-run Countries and Unions. So what are we then?
