Apologies if this has been asked before but I did a quick search and didn’t spot it so here goes:

How far away are we from having a Pi3 SD card image…?

If you put the RC14 SD card image onto an SD card on a Pi 1 or 2 and then apply update4 or update5L from within RISC OS you will update the SD card to April 2016 or October 2016. Before running it on a Pi 3 you need to update Netsurf from Plingstore.

Hmm…OK – I will have to see if I can dig out the Pi that I turned into a Nintendo emulator for my wife to use…

How stable are the updates?

April seems stable. October is not (as Serial module does not work properly).

Great thanks, I’ve updated to the April version using a Pi1 I found lying around in the lab at work and its all working smoothly so far on the Pi3!

Back when I first got into RISC OS I rushed out and bought the NutPi

I used Writer+ on it quite a bit and will do so again when I get the RISC OS system up and running again.

Now my original Pi (a Pi 2) has been acquired by my wife and put to work as a Pitendo so I have bought a Pi 3.

The house we bought is still largely in a state of disrepair so I’m unable to test things at the moment (and the new job is entirely software based so no Pi or screens lying around to play with)…but just wondering…do I need to get a new version of NutPi for it to work on the Pi 3?

AIUI NutPi is currently in the process of being upgraded. I don’t know the timescale.

October is not (as Serial module does not work properly).

The October update is now also stable. Some of the RC14 software is not yet able to run on the Pi model 3, but the ROM and firmware are fine.
