New Desktop theme

Sorry for reviving a dead thread, but I thought it was better then starting a new one just to ask this: Did you ever do that retro theme? I’m planning on putting a Pi 2 (ancient for today’s standard, I know) in a retro style case and would love to use !Themes to create a ROS 3.1x era look to it. Can’t seem to find it after searching the forum or a Google search – so I just want to confirm my suspicions. |

Pretty sure one of the standard theme sets (Morris?) is pretty retro. Should at least give RISC OS 3.5 look, which wasn’t wildly different from RO3.1 with Newlook. If you start with that, but turn off window textures (in Wimp config) and choose system font, you should basically get OS 3.1 I think… |

I’m aware of Morris4 giving the Risc OS 3.5-3.7x look to it, and disabling certain elements gives it the 3.1 look with the exception of the icons. I was hoping to have it’s… flat? Pixelated? icons on top of that. But I suppose I will have it look like a ‘94-’95 machine then a ‘92 one. Doesn’t matter that much in the grand scheme of things. Thanks anyway! =) |

Back in the early 90s many people would have been using low res TV style monitors and rectangular instead of square pixel modes (half vertical resolution, to avoid interlace jitter). If make a toolsprites file with the window furniture icons using MODE 12, that should give the desired pixelated effect. |
