Test post as my old account I had for over 10 years went awol.

I set up a new one and that seemed ok however I then tried logging in via one of my old posts , using the old Id and it let me in and showed it that i was logged in as the old ID?

I guess using the same email address as my old ID number has caused some database issues or perhaps this is by design.

Anyway logged in via a post link with the new ID and deleted that account and unsurprisingly can’t login again.

Signed up again and got another new account number.

Sad to lose my old account number and don’t seem anyway to reclaim it back unless someone knows otherwise?

I think you can’t reuse the same email address?

I can see two accounts with the same user name and email address. I cannot see any finer level of detail other than the overview of the list of accounts that the site gives me, so there’s nothing I can do other than delete accounts.

How does an account “go AWOL”? Did you try a password reset?

I think you can’t reuse the same email address?

That would make sense, given its the address that you log in with and not the user name.
But god forbid the system do something useful like saying that an address is already in use…?

and deleted that account and unsurprisingly can’t login again.

Are you sure you deleted the right thing. Or, let me rephrase that, did Beast delete the right thing? Have you checked to see if your old posts are still around?
Thankfully, yes. https://www.riscosopen.org/forum/users/110

Which implies there may be three Dougs around here. ;-)

seem anyway to reclaim it back unless someone knows otherwise?

Probably best to email the admin to see how best to proceed.

Yes tried it when I couldn’t login in first as it said user/password not recogonized or something like that.

However it said it couldn’t find that address and hence why I tried a new user as I was away from home at the time.

I can see two accounts with the same user name and email address.

May be 3 now :-)

It lets you use it , well it has for me :-)

Probably best to email the admin to see how best to proceed.

Think that is the best case now.

You go on holiday for a relax and look what happens :-)

OK, so can I now delete the two accounts that have your email name beginning with “old”? Your posting above certainly is tagged with the (very) old number.

Hi Dave,

Andrew temporary suspended the 9xxx i.d’s and said he would delete them.

I was one of the first to sign up in the very early days , around 2008 ish, so guess thats why my number is so low and why I wanted to keep it!.
