!Packman on Pi 3B with Risc OS 5.27

I was having problems downloading JASPP games from !Packman. In an effort to improve things, I downloaded and install !Packman 0.9.5 beta. Foolishly I overwrote the original, so cant go back. My searches haven’t found any of the pre-beta versions. Followed Jon’s directions, but got an error that hadn’t shown previously: ‘Failed to install/remove package when Downloading’ and ‘url malformed’ You thoughts would as ever be most gratefully received Bob |

That is explained here. In brief, the warning triangle indicates that PackMan cannot determine whether this package will work on your system, usually because the package owner hasn’t yet included the “Environment” field in their package description. You should still be able to download the package. |

Bob, try doing an update lists in PackMan and try again. You can contact me via the email address in the PackMan help if you haven’t solved this yet. The advanced menu has a log option. If you turn that on, try an install and send me the log it will show me what is happening. The good news is Jon is actively working towards adding the Environment field to the JASPP packages so the red triangles for those will go away eventually. I’m still planning to remove some more triangles, but I’ve a few other things to do first. I want to find time to package a new version of GCC so I can re-build things with the latest fixes while updating the environment. |

Weirdly, I’m having this self-same problem on a Pi 3B. Works perfectly on a Titanium. Was a solution found to the “url malformed” issue? |

Forget it. Resolved it. I’d typed the URL without http at the beginning… |
