Posted by Steve Revill Wed, 15 Feb 2023 22:07:00 GMT

RISC OS Open are looking forward to attending the South West show on 25th February, there are lots of amazing things to see – we expect the atmosphere will be electric!

All manner of things to see at Arnos

Drop by and take the latest release candidate of RISC OS 5.30 for a test drive in person, try out a few exclusive features that haven’t made it in yet, including a significant essential app which has our fingers tingling with excitement as it joins dozens of others under ROOL’s wing.

Learn about progress on all the bounties covering:

  • The recently under way USB stack work
  • More productive (and less likely to crash!) Paint
  • Demoing the native Git client for developers
  • Replacing the aged networking components to get your Pi on WiFi
  • Achievements reunifying the Toolbox
  • Partition support in the filing systems

We’ll have a freshly brewed batch of the popular RISC OS Open branded break mugs, coasters, T shirts and polo shirts to fill your boots with. No boots though, sorry.

You can also get your hands on the latest edition of the Desktop Development Environment, which now automatically inlines hundreds of commonly used system calls to reduce size and further boost speed of your C code.

Venue details

Shows are the perfect opportunity to meet and talk to fellow RISC OS users and developers about what they’re doing with our favourite operating system. The venue itself is centrally located on the Bath Road (if approaching by car) and approximately 1.25 miles from Bristol Temple Meads (the nearest train station).

10:30am – 4pm, Saturday 25th February.
