It doesn’t matter whether you are a talented developer, someone who can’t program and just wants to use RISC OS or maybe you don’t use RISC OS but you’d still like to help. There are ways for everyone to get involved…

RISC OS is developed by the community and that development is managed by RISC OS Open. We are a voluntary organisation supported by donations and the sale of various bits of merchandise. We run a bounty scheme to try to stimulate development in the key areas where we feel RISC OS is lacking.
If these technical bounties don’t mean much to you, don’t panic! There’s a general ROOL administration bounty. If we get enough spare cash in the bank, we will just distribute the surplus across all the other open bounties.
Share your Experiences
By joining the forums at the RISC OS Open site, you can see what other people are doing with RISC OS, share your ideas and issues and help those who have questions which you are knowledgeable about.
Improve the Documentation
There is an ever-expanding set of documentation in the RISC OS Open wiki. This covers all sorts of topics, including how to build RISC OS, what software is compatible with various platforms and general information about the shared source project.
At the moment, the wiki is primarly quite technical. However, we have no objections to people adding documentation which is aimed more towards users than developers.
Develop
For RISC OS to thrive, it needs both a vibrant community of users and an equally productive community of developers. Not only does RISC OS need developers to help work on the core system, but it needs application developers to update, enhance, port and develop software.
Two good places to start looking are:
