Quick Guide: 3. Iconbar Icons

Left-click on the Edit icon that appears on the iconbar to open a new document.

Edit icon on iconbar

In RISC OS, applications normally install an icon onto the right-hand side of the iconbar while they are running. You can left-click this to open the application’s main window, start a new document or whatever. Middle-clicking the icon opens a menu which will almost always include a “Quit” item – this is the normal way for you to quit applications.

Some applications will also respond to a right-click on their icon. In RISC OS, this normally causes the application do something that’s not the same as a left-click (but often related).
