h3. Overview MailMan is an email client for AUN (Econet). h3. "Bonus binaries" This is one of a group of applications and modules distributed as *Bonus Binaries* - software considered unsuitable for inclusion in the standard HardDisc4 image. They are primarily of interest to developers, and are made available on the "half a loaf" principle: the pressing need for software that performs these tasks outweighs the inconvenience of the unfinished and/or anachronistic behaviour of the software itself. h3. Installation Instructions MailMan requires a working Econet/AUN installation. h3. Usage notes * Before starting MailMan, log on to your Econet network. * The MailMan icon shows current status:
Standard pillar box - no mail
Bulging pillar box - mail waiting to be read
Pillar box with question mark - unable to communicate with mail server. * Use Menu > Setup to specify the mail server, username etc.
The Mail source file must already exist on the server, with public write access. * To send mail, drag a text file to the MailMan icon on the icon bar then fill in the dialogue box. * To receive mail, either click on the icon or use Menu > Fetch mail. Mail is delivered to the "current mail file" (specified in Set up choices). If Edit is running, incoming mail will also be displayed in an Edit window. Further documentation on how to use MailMan can be found in the Level 4 Fileserver Network Manager's Guide (issue 2, 1993) and in the Acorn A3000 User Guide. h3.
