GraphTask as been recompiled to fix issues which have been reported on the Raspberry Pi 4. It is available for download from The ARM Club Website I have not had reports of my other software failing on the Pi 4, but everything else built prior to 2020 has been recompiled just in case. !GraphTask provides graphical taskwindows allowing many non desktop programs to be run in a multitasking desktop window. It supports VDU graphics plotting, numbered modes including Telext mode 7, palette changes, scaling of the window, and reporting of the mouse corrected position. |

Thank you for the update. I’d seen the program on ROD’s Direct distro and it didn’t make much sense at that time, but now I’ve downloaded it makes perfect sense. A useful utility. :) |

I love the way in which !GraphTask even emulates the ancient BBC-micro era screen modes. Feature request: Can you restore the flashing colours? |

Arrh, I hated flashing colours, which is why I didn’t emulate them, although as GraphTask supports palette changing it would be possible to change the palette on a timer, but then that would replot the sprite on to the screen each time, slowing everything down. It would need to detect if flashing colours were in use, which is possibly a bit to much to contemplate changing these days. |

The flashing colours were always utterly ridiculous… which is why I like them. |

What I should do is open source it, and allow people to add their own abominations like flashing colours. It’s on the cards to do at some point, along with all my other software, sometime between now and long after I’m dead. |
