!KMSwitch using virtualisation

Hello, I know that !KMSwitch can only share the keyboard and mouse of another RISC OS machine. Much like how Microsoft Garage’s Mouse without Borders can only share Windows peripherals, but you have to be running NT6 onwards to do it. Unlike Synergy which is platform blind. I could use this with my RISC PC or A3010 (and to be honest it would solve my A3010 green keyboard connector problem – only just realised that typing it now!), but my Pi would be stuck on a 17" square BenQ monitor via a VGA splitter. I’d rather use one of my two main PC monitors – both are Samsung SD590_S24D590PL running with two HDMI and one VGA input on each monitor. They are full HD amd 24 inchers, so far large than a 19" BenQ panel (but it is the one that can access 15MHz graphics modes!). As I’d rather use my decent PC monitor, I need to find a way to use my Windows keyboard and mouse setup. I have a PS2 Microsoft Internet Keyboard (a v1, but I also have two more v1s and a single v2 with a USB 1.1 hub onboard!) and a USB 1.1 white Microsoft Intellimouse with the four buttons on the side and the red laser. I have not yet found a modern set that improves upon either the keyboard or mouse. The mouse is exceptionally comfortable to use, and with mechanical keys and muscle memory I can hit 120wpm with the MS Internet Keyboard. I hope so, as the two I purchased last year to keep me going cost £50 each! So few left around, let alone brand new and sealed like mine! Anyway back onto topic: Could I run the !KMSwitch server from either Virtual Acorn (VirtualA5000, VirtualRPC, or even my licensed copy of VirtualRPC-AdjustSA) or from a network configured rpc_Emu? Has anyone given this a try? I’m still having problems updating my Pi installation from RISC OS 5.21 to 5.23. I changed the ROMs over in Loader and figured out the display issue with the new EDID support, but TaskWindow always crashes with a Branch through Zero error and Aemulator has some kind of scaffold error! |

Maybe there are any misunderstandings. To many English for me ;-) Is there a reason why you not try Thomas KMSwitch? It opensource from his computer corner. |

Any idea what this SWI is and if I can softload it? Trying to run !KMSwitch on my RISC PC running 4.02 softload (3.70 in ROM) and I get the following error. I can load the RMModule and configure the server that way, but it’s still not working correctly. http://thumbs.imagebam.com/28/d3/de/a91d1b626036173.jpg[/IMG] |

Half an answer. SWI &44ECF is Toolbox_Initialise. |

Hmmm Toolbox is installed… Thanks David I’ll have a play |

I did note that !KMSwitch does not appear to RMEnsure any Toolbox modules. |

I remember, I have try with my RISC PC with Adjust (4.39) in ROM and my a9home. Connection was working with my Beagle xM. |

To ensure that I am understandig the problem right: KMSwitch Server: RiscPC running 4.02 softload. Did I understood this correctly? I have checked a KMSwitch connection between my RiscPC (4.02) and an RPi running 5.21. It worked on my machines without problems. Which module version of TextGadgets you are using? |
