It is rather disconcerting when Bugs that I have raised suddenly disappear (because they have been fixed). Currently the only way to find them (to see the last comments and actions) is to guess they have been closed, and look through the closed lists. These are quite small at the moment, so this is practical, but when they get much larger it will be impractical. Also, most bug-tracking systems only allow the originator of a problem to accept it as closed, not the techy who thinks they have fixed it! Can I ask you to consider ... 1. How can people easily track problems that they have raised? 2. Should there be a 'Closed' status, which can only be set when it is Fixed (or Rejected?) by the person who raised the problem. These, I think, would help to keep raisers of problems more involved in the process. Just my POV! |

It might be possible (as in, within reasonable time and with reasonable effort) to extend Collaboa to track subscriptions to tickets through the Hub and send e-mail notifications in a manner similar to the forum. > 2. For now, I think we ought to trust that the problem is fixed. If the original reporter doubts the veracity of that fix, then they are at liberty to test for the fault again and reopen the ticket should need arise. This mechanism would be a lot stronger if there were e-mail notification of changes to ticket status, as requested in your first point. I've added ticket #97 as a feature request on Collaboa. |

Ok thanks Andrew. I suspected you might be constrained by Collaboa, although it seems odd to me that a bug tracking package lacks such things! As a bug-fixer myself, I often doubt the veracity of my own fixes until the originator has confirmed all is ok!! Martin |

If faults are discussed in the Forum too, this might be enough; adding e-mail notification to Collaboa is possible but I can't see a way to do it that isn't a fair lump of work. Not a huge amount, yet non-trivial. Have a look at the comments on Ticket #97 and see what you think. If you're happy, please close the fault, else let me know via the forum or a ticket comment.
