Hi, Thank you to everyone that bought a copy of the AMCOG Development Kit, Cyborg and previously released games at Wakefield. I really appreciate your support. Please send me any requests for improvements or additional features that you would like to see. In terms of licensiing. I thought I would would be useful to state explicitly that anyone who has purchased the Development kit, may use the graphics, music and code included within the kit within your own projects for free or commercial purposes. Hi David, I will add notes to Cyborg and Mutant Penguin for level editing. In summary, the game kit tile library supports a text file input to initialise the level maps. With regard to the dimensions of the map: examine the call to PROCTilesInit() e.g. In Cyborg, PROCTilesInit(40,32, 60*2, 60*2, “floor”), then a new level would require a size of 40 * 32 tiles where the tiles are 60 pixels square (mapping to on-screen coordinates of 60*2 x 60*2) with a background sprite of “floor” that is used when sprites with a property of tiles_overlay% + tiles_mask% are plotted. I will add some notes to the package I upload to clarify the rules Cyborg uses to initialise its levels & I will do the same for Mutant Penguin. Here are some screenshots:
I intend, to make Mutant Penguin a free download as it is a simpler single screen game. Here is a look at example level data for that game which also uses the tile library: Legend: Code to initialise tile library: The products will be uploaded to the Plingstore and officially announced in the next few days and the latest version sent to the beta testers. |

Well. I’ve now got the Raspberry Pi 1 running at the same speed as the ARM X6 on Mutant Penguin and Cyborg (by dropping the frame rate to 30 FPS which looks good). Cyborg now has 1 extra level map and a few bug fixes. 3 packages have been created which I will upload to PlingStore tomorrow (and 1 to my own website) Patrick, Rick and David- I will e-mail these out to you tomorrow as well. Rick: I believe I made those code corrections. Thanks for highlighting the cut&paste errors from old source code versions. |

Had a good chat with my writing partner and his girlfriend today about the Zombie game. Better design and gameplay concepts from Sim than I had and hopefully new artwork from Caroline. This game is headed in a slightly better direction now and should be ready for release at the London show with a decent beta cycle starting in a couple of months. |

An update is in progress to the game kit (two more simpler detailed examples) and also to Cyborg as well. Some graphics are being donated for Cyborg + I’m adding more sound effects/maps etc. I thought the sci-fi XOR sound effect would suit the game and will be incorporating it. I have updates planned to Xeroid, Mop Tops, Mutant Penguin & RDSP. As usual updates are free. Tony Bartram |

I’ve shared a small tile library demo game which is less than 200 lines in total which includes a large number of comment lines with a few Game Kit users. I’ll rev the graphics before uploading a new version of the game kit later this week. |
