RISC OS 5.16: alphabet utf8 and abort on data transfer at &FC12C28C

Reported by: Stefaan Claes (74) Severity: Normal
Part: RISC OS: Module Release:
Milestone: RISC OS ROM build complete Status Fixed

Details by Stefaan Claes (74):

Before I upgraded to RISC OS 5.16 there were no problems with the alphabet set to utf8 (unicode). Now I often get abort on data transfer errors when I type some text. Changing the alphabet solves the problem:
after changing the alphabet to latin1 (or latin5) I don’t get any abort on data transfer errors.

ps:
I have a obey file in !Boot.Choices.Boot.PreDesk with 1 command:
alphabet utf8

pps:
Address FC12C28C is at offset 0001186C in module WindowManager

  • Status changed from Open to Fixed

This bug (and another related one) should now be fixed. Once ROOL update the downloads you should be able to softload the new wimp (5.08) and use that instead of the one in ROM.
