Serial module in Pi ROM stiffs machine on error

Reported by: Chris Hall (132) Severity: Major
Part: RISC OS: Module Release:
Milestone: Status Fixed

Details by Chris Hall (132):

If there is incoming data at a different baud rate to expected rate, e.g. 9600 from a GPS hat, then the error interrupt causes machine to hang. Symptoms are that start up halts at ‘mod init done’ or machine hangs on RMReInit Serial even if correct baud rate set beforehand via SerialDeviceSupport. Work around is to disconnect RXDATA (pin 10) during start up and reconnect later or Unplug Serial and leave it unplugged.
