These pages provide basic information on released RISC OS components, together with some instructions on usage.

  • Hopper – “Help the frog cross the road” game
  • Madness – Moves all windows on the screen
  • MemNow – Displays available memory
  • Meteors – “Destroy space junk” game
  • MineHunt – “Find mines hidden in grid” game
  • Patience – Desktop card game
  • Puzzle – Sliding-block puzzle game

Printing

  • FontPrint – Select printer fonts
  • PrintEdit – Edit printer definition files
  • Printers – Printer manager

Utilities

  • Access+ – Acorn Access file-sharing
  • ChangeFSI – Image processing and format conversion
  • HForm – Formatter for native FileCore format discs
  • Patch apply or remove patches from applications
  • ResetBoot – reset !Boot.Choices directory to factory defaults
  • ShowScrap – display the contents of the “Scrap” directory
  • SparkFS – Read-only multiple format archive decompressor
  • T1ToFont – Convert Adobe Type 1 to Acorn font format
  • Usage – show CPU usage for each active task

Boot Sequence

  • Configure – System configuration utility
  • InetSetup – Network configuration utility
  • SysMerge – System merge utility
  • PrintDefs – Printer definition files for !Printers
  • Screen savers – Desktop screen savers (falling snow, scrolling text etc.)

Additional utilities

Available with selected ROM builds

  • SDCreate – Put ROM images onto bootable SD cards (BeagleBoard/PandaBoard/iMx6)

“Bonus binaries” package

These applications appear in the Bonus binaries package on the Miscellaneous downloads page. They are provided “as-is”, and have had little or no testing, lack internationalisation, or are deficient in some other way.

  • Connector – Terminal emulator with XYZModem transfer
  • DebugButtn – adds a “debug” button onto error boxes
  • DebugTools – additional debugging facilities
  • FontEd – Font editor
  • FormEd – Wimp template designer
  • GateWay – AUN/Econet utility
  • MailMan – AUN/Econet email client
  • MakeModes – Monitor definition file creator and editor
  • Territories – modules for a selection of territories, with information on how to use these as a basis for internationalisation
  • ResCreate – Toolbox object and gadget creator
  • ResEd – Toolbox resources editor
  • ResTest – Toolbox resources tester
  • SrcEdit – Programmer’s text editor
  • WinEdit – Wimp template designer
  • ZeroPain – diagnostic tool for ROM images with “zero page” memory protection
