I not have look at the German keyboard in detail. I have play around with and is was working fine. But I missing a save option or a automatic setting based on the OS setting. My OS keyboard setting is German but your virtual starts with UK. For me I have change the Country$ var in the code ;-)

Yes, also www.Pi-Top.com since more than one year. Thats the reason why I not build a printable case for a Pi-Laptop. But it has not a touchscreen and it is not a tablet.
At this time it is my own pleasure but there is a option to made more if anyone has an interest.

I saw this at an event I was working at. It looked great, apart from the two button mouse. I told the guy about RISC OS and that he’d have a captive market if it had 3 buttons, and that I’d buy one.

However it appears that it was not possible in time (he did say he would consider it), so I’ve hung onto my money.

Maybe RISC OS should be modified so the three windows keys duplicate the three mouse keys, so we don’t suffer so badly from the limitations of such devices.

It’s very easy to use specific keys as mouse buttons…
I do this on my Schlepi.

I also think that this is not a problem. Whether keyboard mapper, 3rdButton, MouseKey or whatever …
Drivers are the bigger problem in my eyes. Touchscreen, Bluetooth, WiFi … all what modern hardware can do. I can live without but I’m a old user.

Looks like my Laptop. ;-) The only thing I would change is the first line. Numeric keys at start and the special character with shift, AltGr… But is not a problem.

Any “minutes” of metalwork later…

Has 32mm thickness. Any “cosmetical operations” are necessary.

I’ll point out that if you’ve got the official stand, the display comes up upside down by default.

I added lcd_rotate=2 to my config.txt (from here )

and that fixes it.

Are you meaning the Pimoroni or the Multicomp stand/enclosure?
Looks like the Pimoroni.
How stable is it when touching the top area of the screen?
The Multicomp one looks to be trying to ignore the laws of physics in the datasheet photo’s.

Pimoroni, but I got it from the Raspberry Pi ‘Swag’ store, so it took me a moment to work out which one they sell! Seems petty solid to me.

I didn’t like the nylon bolts it uses to hold the legs on when I was assembling it, but it seems to have held up so far.

From the looks of it the Multicomp one is perhaps designed to be hand-held, rather than stood on the desk?

I have seen “your” frame on adafruit but I was hoping I can use my as a PiTab. With Linux it works but I’m RISC OS addicted

Yes just found this explanation by the RPF:
n.b.I think they may have now fixed Raspbian to not now need the rotation, hence the discrepancy between the OS’s

To move the the latest kernel? It’s pretty stable right now anyway but has a fix in it for the touchscreen

It will also rotate the screen to be the correct way up for the display (the display does have an up / down and it’s by default the wrong way around!) you can add lcd_rotate=2 to config.txt to stay how it is right now

My DSI screen does not work with RISC OS and wonder if anyone can help.

I have had it working with Raspbian Wheezy, so I am confident that my connections are correct.

I am using an A+, but I have checked that I have the same problem with a B+.

I started with a fresh RC14 and copied last Sunday’s ROM build to it, updating !Boot with ZeroPain.

I configured the monitor to 800×480, as suggested by Chris.

I downloaded the lateset firmware files from Github and updated these, including START/ELF.

Without disconnecting the display, I have connected via HDMI and the Pi boots to a 800×480 scaled display and appears to work ok.

When I boot without HDMI connected, the Pi appears to boot correctly from the red and green LEDs, but there is no tickle from the display.

Any suggestions?

Perhaps someone has a combination of ROM and START/ELF that are known to work that they could send me?

Not sure if this helps but the default (with no HDMI connection) is composite video via the phono plug. You may need something in config/txt.

Steve: what happens if you boot with HDMI disconnected then plug HDMI in?

Hi All,

I have the same issue as Steve (Took exactly the same path).

I used a copy of Jessie Raspbian to test against – It’s display was upside-down in the pimoroni frame., and so used the lcd_rotate=2 to fix that.

I haven’t taken the start.elf from Raspbian yet, only GitHub

No other changes to config.txt.

Is that a latest ROM, or is it a more recent one than RC14, but not the latest?

Being unfamiliar with Linux, I am not sure about getting files of it. Anyway, the Github START/ELF should be fine, shouldn’t it?

I try it last month. I take a ROM from this days and the github startelf nothing works.
I take my wheezy card and do update and upgrade and the display was working with Linux. Than I take the startelf to my RISC OS card and the display also works. Before nothing. Eternal darkness ;-)

P.S: Try this start/elf
